Sick of the Salafi

Salaam alaykom wa rahmatuallahi,

Is anyone else sick and tired of the Salafi? I am so fed up with people of the 'salafi dawah' invading our mosques and causing so many problems. I have gone to two mosques - usually patronized by just regular Sunni people- and both of these mosques have seen problems happen as soon as the salafi showed up. First, they want to correct everyone else about everrrryyythinnnnggg. They make judgements on everyone on the most superficial things and demand daleel for every little thing one might not agree with them about. No one has the time (or energy) to go and look up why we don't take the most intolerant positions. Sure, we should always try to provide evidence, but come on already! I don't want to hear why the sufi, the shia, the whoever else are deviant. I don't like this mindset being promoted, especially to the younger generations.

Don't even get me started on what happens with women's participation once the salafi show up. Suddenly they manage to get control of the boards, or the MSA or whatever. Next thing you know, there are curtains up in meetings in classrooms, women are told they can't be on the boards or in leadership positions, and god forbid you walk in the same door as a man!

I have one sister who is on the salafi 'dawah' and I just can't deal with her anymore. She has to comment on everything with this attitude of superiority and arrogance. What is UP with these people??
